November ballot-counting is over, turn-out impressive
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Riverside County election officials certified the November election results Friday officially ending the 2018 election year.
One of the most-watched contests saw Jeff Hewitt out-polling Russ Bogh to win a seat on the County Board of Supervisors by 3,673 votes. Bogh jumped out to an early lead but vote-by-mail ballots turned the tide giving Hewitt the victory. He succeeds Marion Ashley who decided to retire.
The race for County Sheriff-Coroner was more decisive. Sheriff’s Lt. Chad Biano ousted his boss Stan Sniff by a margin of 58%-42%.
The final county-wide vote tally showed that nearly 63 percent of the more than 1-million voters cast ballots in the November 6th election. About two-thirds voted by mail.
