New rail line to Ontario airport proposed
ONTARIO--Public meetings wrapped up in Rancho Cucamonga Thursday on plans to extend LA’s Metro Gold Line into the Inland Empire.

The light rail extension would run from the Gold Line’s present terminus in Pasadena through the San Gabriel Valley to Montclair and the Ontario/Los Angeles International Airport.

Two routes are under consideration. One would parallel the historic Pacific Electric tracks and then south to the airport along the Cucamonga Creek Channel. The other calls for new track along the existing Metrolink route.

It’s estimated that 15,000 people would ride the Gold Line extension daily.
