The road to the Superbowl becoming less congested
The New England Patriots advanced to the AFC Championship Game for the eighth straight season by beating the Los Angeles Chargers 41-28 in the divisional round Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Tom Brady threw for 343 yards and a touchdown, and James White caught 15 passes for 97 yards.

Philip Rivers finished 25-of-51 for 331 yards and three touchdowns with an interception

The total yards illustrated the gulf between the Patriots and Chargers on Sunday. New England outgained Los Angeles 498-335.

The Patriots will meet the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC title game. As the top seed, KC will host the contest, which will kick off at 3:40 p.m. PST Jan. 20th.

In the NFC, the Los Angeles Rams moved on to the NFC Championship Game after they earned their first playoff win since 2004 on Saturday night. The running game led the way in the 30-22 divisional-round win over the Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
