Ontario Airport’s popularity grows, best numbers in 10-years
ONTARIO – (INT) – A final count has shown that more than 5.1 million airline passengers moved through Ontario International Airport (ONT) in 2018. That was the most in 10-years and an increase of 12.4 percent over 2017.

International passengers showed the biggest increase, 61.1 percent.

Air cargo likewise continued its robust growth. During calendar year 2018, shipments of freight and mail totaled more than 750,000 tons, 14.8% higher than 2017.

“The end-of-year numbers are particularly remarkable since the transfer to local control occurred just two years ago and they show that our strategy to develop Ontario into an international gateway is succeeding,” said Alan D. Wapner, president of the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA).
