Fatalities, survivors in Perris house fire
PERRIS – (INT) – At least two people perished in an early Saturday morning house fire.

Calfire responded at 2:16am to a home on Portrait Road and found heavy smoke and flames pouring from the second floor.

There were initial reports of people trapped. Calfire firefighters found two victims dead and later tweeted there were three fatalities. The coroner said the victims were a 33-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy.

One adult and another child survived with moderate injuries and were taken to local hospitals.

Calfire has not said where the fire started or its cause. More than two dozen firefighters responded and contained the deadly blaze within 36 minutes of the initial report.

Damage to the house was estimated at $350,000.
