Employment slides in Purchasing Managers Index INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Purchasing managers are becoming less optimistic about the local economy with the opening of 2019.
The monthly PMI issued Friday by the Institute of Applied Research at Cal State San Bernardino found that while two-thirds of the purchasing managers surveyed believe the local economy will remain unchanged, 17 percent predict it will weaken. The balance see it becoming stronger. One of the PMI’s index of key indicators – employment - decreased sharply reversing a two-year trend of growth. Overall, the PMI has been in positive territory for 25 months. Story Date: February 8, 2019
