Reaction to the State of the Union
WASHINGTON - (INT) - Reaction to the president's State of the Union address found the Republicans and democrats predictably split.

Paul Cook (R-San Bernardino County):

“The most important task of the federal government is to keep its citizens safe, and I agree with President Trump that we must secure our border. We must also confront the rising cost of healthcare.”

Ken Calvert (R-Corona):

“I hope Democrats can put aside politics and return to the table to negotiate on how we can secure our border against illegal immigration and the trafficking of women, children and drugs.”

Mark Takano (D-Riverside):

"President Trump and his Administration are continuing to focus on fabricated crises, instead of prioritizing the issues Americans care about. While they continue to attack immigrants and women’s rights, ignore the realities of climate change, and fail the middle class, I am committed to working with my Democratic colleagues on an inclusive vision for America."
