Gasoline: Drivers pay less, enjoying it more
SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Oil industry analysis say this month’s spell of cold rainy weather has put a damper on gasoline prices.
Demand is down and consequently the brakes have been applied to the seasonal upward climb in pump prices caused by refineries already producing the more expensive blend of gasoline.
The retail statewide average is $3.27 a gallon of 87 octane regular.
In Riverside, the average per-gallon price is $3.23, which is 14 cents lower than last year. In San Bernardino, the average price is three cents higher than last month.
Overall, spokesman Jeffrey Spring at the Automobile Club of Southern California says “drivers are paying about 10 cents less per gallon than on this date last year.”
