SB mayor seeks special council meeting
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Divisiveness is preventing the City Council from getting its work done, Mayor John Valdivia charges.

Wednesday’s meeting was abruptly adjourned when the three senior members walked out during a discussion about staffing Valdivia's office.

On the agenda were proposals to improve the current standard of care for the animals at the city’s animal shelter, the implementation of community oriented policing, and the reopening of police substations.

“It is completely unacceptable that a minority of council members would hold the city’s business hostage over personal politics,” said Valdivia.

The Mayor said he would call a special meeting on Monday in the hope that the Council would complete unfinished business.
