DEVORE – (INT) – A 10-year-old boy shot in the head as he sat in his mother’s car was seriously wounded, but the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said Friday he is expected to survive.

The boy was not named, but the CHP was seeking witnesses to the Thursday night car-to-car shooting on Interstate 15 in the lower Cajon Pass.

The CHP was not discounting the possibility of road rage.

The gunfire penetrated a window of the mother’s BMW, but no one else was hurt.
