Runaway, missing girls held in Yucaipa murder
YUCAIPA – (INT) – Two teenage girls from Yucaipa are being questioned about the gunshot death of a Cherry Valley man.

The girls, aged 14 and 15, were arrested last Friday in Buckeye, Arizona after their vehicle, stolen in San Bernardino County, had crashed into a pump at a gas station.

Authorities determined the younger girl had run-away and the other was ‘missing’ from a Yucaipa residence.

Upon checking the residence on Avenue E, sheriff’s deputies found the body of Rueben Franco, Jr. The 23-year-old man had been shot.

The girls were returned to San Bernardino County where they are being held on suspicion of murder.
