Truckdriver hit with five manslaughter charges SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – A year-long investigation into one of 2018’s deadliest freeway incidents has resulted in manslaughter charges being filed this week.
Prosecutors allege that the driver of a concrete pumper truck was fatigued when his rig pierced a concrete center divider barrier on Interstate 10 in Rialto colliding with five oncoming vehicles. Five people perished in the massive February 16, 2018 crash. They included four men and a woman. All resided in the Inland Empire except for one. Michael Coley, who was driving the 60 ton truck, survived the fiery pile-up. Prosecutors announced Tuesday the filing of five counts of felony manslaughter with gross negligence against Coley.
