Painted Ladies flourish during 'green up'
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Generous winter rains have spawned an outpouring of Painted Ladies.

Millions of butterflies are making their annual migration from Northern Mexico to the Pacific Northwest.

The ‘green-up’ resulting from four consecutive months of above-normal rainfall has provided the perfect breeding grounds for the Painted Ladies.

The butterflies prefer more rural areas for their flight path northward. Temecula’s Wine Country is one popular area to view the swarms of butterflies.
