Major drug bust at Temecula I-15 checkpoint
TEMECULA - (INT) - Border Patrol agents have scored a major drug bust at the I-15 checkpoint.
Two Mexican nationals had more than $600K in methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin stashed the back of their vehicle.
After a K-9 brought attention to their vehicle, agents searched and located 114 bundles of narcotics inside the rear cargo area. An inventory of the narcotics included 115 pounds of methamphetamine valued at $229,928; 28 pounds of cocaine valued at $276,700; and almost 11 pounds of black tar heroin valued at $113,850.
The 36-year-old driver and his 41-year-old passenger were taken into custody and turned over to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and face narcotic smuggling charges.
