INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) - Three traffic mishaps Saturday in Fontana, Jurupa Valley and Riverside killed three people.

A pre-dawn accident in Jurupa Valley claimed a pedestrian on Van Buren Boulevard. He has been identified as Robert Thurmond, 56, of Riverside. Sheriff's investigators believe he was running across the street when he was hit by a hit-run vehicle.

Earlier, a vehicle overturned on the 210 freeway near Citrus Avenue. Killed was 60-year-old Sonia Alpuche of Rialto, the driver.

In Riverside, a bicyclist was struck and killed as he rode down historic Victoria Avenue. Brian Sabel, 52, of Riverside appears to have been struck from behind as he rode westbound in the bicycle lane at Myers Street. The vehicle that was involved left the scene. Neither it nor the driver have been located at last report.
