Health insurance: County by county
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Riverside and San Bernardino county are among one-third of the nation’s counties with less than 10 percent of residents not having health insurance.
Census Bureau statistics issued Tuesday put the Riverside County rate at 8.9 percent and San Bernardino County at 8.3 percent. That accounts for a total of 338,901 individuals in the Inland Empire.
The statistics were for 2017 and for residents under age 65.
Among the states, the lowest percentages were in the upper Mid-West and the Northeast. The highest were Texas and Oklahoma.
