Pot farm covers city block
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Narcs have taken down one of the largest marijuana cultivations ever found in the Inland Empire.

Police say it covered a city block and contained about 40,000 marijuana plants.

Acting on reports of a strong odor of marijuana, police swooped down on a ‘greenbelt’ neighborhood on McAllister Street Thursday shutting down the marijuana farm. They say it had the potential to produce about 20,000 pounds that could have fetched $20 million.

Several vehicles including a tractor and a forklift used in the cultivation process were seized along with thousands of pounds of fertilizer and hundreds of gallons of pesticides. Several make-shift dwellings violated health codes. But, there was no mention of any arrests.
