Ski season was among the longest in years
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – April has brought to an end the extended ski season in the San Bernardino Mountains.

At Mountain High near Wrightwood, more than 120 inches of natural snow fell this season, the most since 2010/11. From January through March there was a 75% increase in visits over the previous season and the resort’s most profitable winter since 2012/13.

Bear Mountain was among the first to open last November.

Snow Valley was the last to close on April 21st.

A Valentine’s Day storm damaged some mountain highways putting a crimp on accessibility to the ski resorts.

Some snow still covers peaks of the highest mountains.
