Santa Ana River: Don’t go near the water
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Officials are warning that a significant amount of water is being released from the Seven Oaks Dam above Mentone into the Santa Ana River.

The release began at 9am Saturday and will continue until Tuesday with potentially dangerous flows along the river to the Prado Dam at Corona.

Authorities are concerned about the safety of the homeless whose encampments from Riverside to the Prado Basin are known. Warnings are being voiced from police helicopters.

Trails for recreational users, hikers and horse riders within the river bottom have been closed in many areas.

Corona’s H.O.P.E. (Homeless Outreach & Psychological Evaluation) team is also issuing warnings.
