A prime alternate route for commuters linking southwest San Bernardino County and Orange County was closed Monday night because of damage to a gas line. A construction crew struck the line on Highway 142 near Feldspar Drive in Carbon Canyon. The route was closed from Old Carbon Canyon Road to Chino Hills Parkway and has since been reopened, Caltrans said Wednesday. There were no injuries or evacuations. (INT)
