SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Undaunted by the highest gasoline prices in early 4-years, a record number of Southern Californians will be on the move for any Memorial Day weekend.

Nearly 3.4-million will take holiday trips of at least 50 miles. That’s a 4.3 percent increase over last year and the eighth consecutive year that travel for this holiday has grown.

The travel period runs from Thursday through Monday.

Regionally, the top five Memorial Day destinations for Southern California travelers, according to a survey of AAA Travel agents, are:
1. Las Vegas
2. San Diego
3. Grand Canyon
4. San Francisco
5. Anaheim
