Californians won’t have to look far for summer fun.

The personal-finance website WalletHub has placed California Number-1 in five of the seven categories among states offering the greatest variety and most cost-effective options for enjoyment.

California is tops for restaurants, movie theaters, amusement parks, performing arts theaters and fitness centers per capita.

The Golden State slips to 11th in casinos per capita and 14th in golf courses and country clubs.

WalletHub compared the 50 states across 26 key metrics. The data set ranges from movie costs to accessibility of national parks.
