Embattled school official dies in local shooting
GRAND TERRACE – There are reports in Los Angeles that Former Lennox School District Superintendent Kent Taylor died Sunday from a self inflicted gun shot wound.

Sheriff’s confirmed he killed himself, with one shot, at 12:35 pm Sunday, while at home in Grand Terrace.

Taylor came under fire for a virtual learning academy, attached to local Catholic Schools, aimed at increasing district funding through average daily attendance funds.
The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) was also investigating the solvency of Lennox School District as it was revealed the district had burned through nearly all of its cash reserves.

In April Taylor abruptly resigned from Lennox School District and the Colton School Board.
