Falling gasoline prices about to reverse course
SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Steadily falling gasoline prices are about to come to an end.

On July 1st a 5.6-cent increase in the gas tax takes effect.

“If the decreases continue at this pace through the end of the month, we could just see the gas tax increase absorbed by a slower decrease of prices at the pump,” the Auto Club’s Jeff Spring noted.

Prices for 87 octane regular are now within a nickel of this time last year. Statewide, it’s $3.85 a gallon.

In Riverside, it’s $3.68 and in San Bernardino the average is $3.73. In both cities, it’s 27 cents a gallon lower than last month.
