Motorcyclists among seven traffic fatalities in 24 hours
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Sseven people lost their lives in traffic mishaps across the 2-county region during a 24-hour period Sunday and early Monday.

Motorcyclists figured heavily in the death toll. They were involved in crashes on the Ortega Highway above Lake Elsinore, Colton and Palm Desert. Three of the victims were identified as Ronald Smith, 48, of Rialto, Tyler Hoffman, 24, of Cathedral City and Tina Coats, 51 of Corona.

In Riverside, a pedestrian, Danny Gonzales, 26, was struck and killed Sunday night on Spruce Street.

A freeway mishap at the 91-15 interchange in Corona early Monday claimed the life of Miguel Munoz, 40, of Winchester.

A motorist from Bloomington perished in a single-vehicle accident at a Highland intersection early Sunday.

Late Sunday night, a passenger perished in a fiery crash on Route 2 near Wrightwood. The California Highway Patrol said the driver fled on foot.
