Law enforcement officers slay two knife-wielding men
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Officer-involved shootings, often with deadly results, are increasing across the region.
A 32-year-old Adelanto man armed with a knife was shot and killed as he threatened sheriff’s deputies at an apartment in that desert city.
Deputies responded Wednesday to a complaint about a domestic battery incident and confronted Darrell Allen at the door to a laundry room. Allen was taken to Victor Valley Hospital and pronounced dead.
Earlier this week in Rancho Mirage, Riverside County sheriff’s deputies shot and killed a knife-wielding man who’d been “exhibiting bizarre behavior”, according to a news release. When a taser proved ineffective, deputies opened fire as the man advanced toward them.
