Fontana City Manager retires after 20 years
FONTANA – (INT) – One of the Inland Empire’s longest-serving city managers is stepping down.

It was announced Monday at a special City Council meeting that that Ken Hunt is retiring.

Hunt joined Fontana in January 1990, and has served as City Manager since 1999.

Michael Milhiser, former City Manager of Ontario, Montclair and Upland and retired Chief Administrative Officer for the Morongo Band of Mission Indians, was appointed interim City Manager, effective immediately.

“We thank Ken for his dedicated service to our city and wish him all the best in his retirement,” said Mayor Acquanetta Warren. “We’re fortunate to have someone of Mike Milhiser’s experience and leadership heading our transition team, while we search for a permanent replacement.”

Hunt’s long tenure was considered an anomaly in the Inland Empire where the turnover in city managers has become a revolving door.
