RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Congressman Mark Takano (D-Riverside) will get some competition in the 2020 election.

Perris Director of Planning and Economic Development Dr. Grace Williams has announced her candidacy for the 41st Congressional District seat.

In her announcement Monday, Williams described herself as “an immigrant who learned the language, worked her way through college, served in the military, is a single working mom and has devoted her work life to public service.”

Williams has a Doctorate in Policy, Planning & Development from USC’s Sol Price School of Public Policy.

Takano has represented the 41st District since 2013. It covers Riverside, Moreno Valley, Jurupa Valley and Perris.
