Community ‘meet-up spots’ emerge
LAKE ELSINORE – (INT) – Law enforcement is opening a new initiative to protect on-line buyers and sellers.

As internet person-to-person sales have grown, so have assaults, robberies, and other thefts. Not every buyer or seller on-line is true with their intent. A criminal element has emerged that capitalizes upon the inexperience of others.

Local police are launching ‘community meet-up spots’.

The Lake Elsinore station of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is providing a parking lot as an alternative to meeting a stranger at a private residence or unfamiliar location. Signage is located next to parking stalls designated for the exchanges.

The location is also available for families with visitation rights to make a custodial exchange. The location is 333 Limited Ave., Lake Elsinore.
