Beaumont police kill knife-wielding man
BEAUMONT – (INT) – Another officer-involved shooting stemming from an incident of domestic violence has claimed the suspect’s life.

When officers responded to an in-progress incident Friday evening at a residence on Michigan Avenue, they were confronted by a man armed with two large knives.

According to a sheriff’s department statement, the man advanced toward the officers and was fatally shot.

Names of these involved were not immediately released.

The officers were placed on administrative leave pending the initial investigation.

There have been 17 fatal officer-involved shootings across the Inland Empire so far this year including five the past 6-weeks. Nine of the incidents since January 1st occurred at residences. Six of those involved domestic violence.
