Repeal of Clean Power Plan comes under attack SACRAMENTO - (INT) - California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, Governor Gavin Newsom, and Air Resources Board Chair Mary Nichols filed a lawsuit Tuesday challenging the Trump Administration’s repeal of the Clean Power Plan.
A coalition of 22 states, the District of Columbia, and six local governments also targets a replacement rule, the so-called Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) Rule. Becerra contends the ACE Rule, a substitute finalized in June, does nothing to reduce carbon dioxide emissions or to promote clean energy generation. Story Date: August 18, 2019
