How many cigarette butts in a city park?
REDLANDS – (INT) – The final count is in. Youth volunteers have completed their clean-up of Sylvan Park and results of their efforts have been counted.

Within 40 minutes, a tobacco litter clean-up netted 2,100 cigarette butts, tobacco-related litter and marijuana paraphernalia.

Fourteen youth volunteers scoured the 23-acre park August 2nd picking up the castoffs one-by-one.

Cigarette butts are a toxic, non-biodegradable substance that is left behind to pollute the environment and is the most commonly littered item in the United States.
