SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – It was announced late Thursday that Police Chief Jarrod Burguan is retiring.

During his 27-year career with the department, Chief Burguan supervised or managed every division and was acting City Manager for a brief time.

During his watch, Chief Burguan helped the city heal from the 2015 massacre at the Inland Regional Center and two years later the shooting at the North Park Elementary School.

Chief Burguan has been on medical leave this year following knee surgery.
