Top cops in largest cities retire
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – The police chiefs in the Inland Empire’s two largest cities are retiring.

Riverside’s top cop, Sergio Diaz has disclosed he is stepping down from the job he’s held the past 9-years.

During his tenure, Chief Diaz emphasized a commitment to "Integrity, Service, and Excellence" in policing.

Chief Diaz joins Jarrod Burguan in San Bernardino on the sidelines ending law enforcement careers that have spanned decades. Chief Burguan has been on medical leave since January.

Interim chiefs will be appointed until permanent appointments are made.

Their watches end at a time when law enforcement is coming under greater public scrutiny over officer-involved shootings and public debate of gun control.
