Fallen CHP officer remembered as service-minded
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Harvest Christian Fellowship was filled Tuesday for the funeral of slain California Highway Patrol officer Andre Moye.

Moye was gunned down August 12th by an ex-con he’d stopped for a traffic violation. The suspect pulled out a rifle from his vehicle as Moye was writing a ticket. In a gun battle that followed, two other officers were wounded and the suspect killed.

CHP Captain John Tyler described Moye as “a hardworking motor officer, one of the highest performers in the squad, and a great beat partner," Tyler said. "He provided a high level of service to the public and consistently took impaired drivers off the street."

Moye had worked for the Highway Patrol in Riverside since 2017.
