Three alarm Sycamore Canyon Park fire contained
RIVERSIDE – (INT) - The second wildfire in as many months in Riverside’s Sycamore Canyon Park is history.
It broke out Saturday afternoon of unknown cause and forced the evacuation of six homes, but none were damaged.
The Riverside Fire Department responded with about 100 personnel, two dozen fire trucks, two air tankers, a helicopter and a pair of bulldozers.
Flames burned across 250 acres of dry weeds and brush before it was contained at 5pm Sunday.
The park in the city’s Canyon Crest area is popular for hiking and bicycling.
