California ranked among the happiest states
California ranks near the top in a happiness study among the fifty states.

WalletHub made comparisons across 31 key indicators of happiness. The data set ranges from emotional health to income level to sports participation rate.

California came in fourth following Hawaii, Utah and Minnesota.

California was 12th for happiness in the work environment and 16th in the community and environment rankings.

WalletHub said the lowest overall rankings went to Arkansas and West Virginia.

The U.S. ranks No. 19 on this year’s World Happiness Report, down one spot since the previous edition. Research shows that money up to a certain dollar amount can contribute to happiness.
