Local health officials warn of ‘vaping’ and ‘dabbing’
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) - Two acute pulmonary injury cases associated with vaping have been reported by San Bernardino County hospitals.

By comparison, California has a total of 36 pulmonary cases and one death in Los Angeles County. Nationwide, over 380 cases of lung illness and six deaths associated with the use of e-cigarette products have been reported.

Health officials note that some individuals also use a different type of device to heat and extract cannabinoids for inhalation in a process called “dabbing.” Both vaping and dabbing have been associated with pulmonary issues nationwide.

“Although the cause of vaping associated illness is still unknown, I urge anyone who is currently vaping or dabbing to stop,” said Dr. Maxwell Ohikhuare, San Bernardino County Health Officer. “As of now, this is the only way to prevent pulmonary injury.”
