Inland Empire Congressman Paul Cook shifting priorities
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – San Bernardino County Republican Paul Cook wants to trade his seat in Congress for one on the County Board of Supervisors.

Cook, of Yucca Valley, has announced his bid to replace First District Supervisor Robert Lovingood who has said he will not seek a third term and is retiring.

In a statement, Cook said “While I’ve been called to serve in other capacities such as Congress, my focus has always been on empowering communities and making sure local residents have the strongest voice in decisions that affect them.”

Following a distinguished military career, Cook first held elective office in 1998 as a member of the Yucca Valley Town Council. That was followed by three terms in the California Assembly and was elected to Congress representing the 8th District in 2012.
