Power restored after PSPS blackens thousands of homes & businesses
SAN FRANCISCO – (INT) - Ninety-nine percent of the Bay Area's PG&E customer accounts that were affected by PSPS power shut-offs have had their power restored, the utility said.

Farther north, 543,000 customers have seen their electricity restored, with full restoration in Humboldt, Siskiyou, Trinity and Yolo counties.

The preventative power outages were undertaken in hopes of avoiding sparking a wildfire during predicted high winds.

In the Inland Empire, about 63,000 customers in foothill communities from Rancho Cucamonga to San Bernardino were affected.

Traffic signals can also be impacted. Those on state highways will continue to cycle regularly for approximately three hours after the outage and will then cycle to “red-flash” for another three to six hours. If the outage remains in place for more than six hours the signals will then go to “blackout” mode. Motorists must treat blacked out traffic signals as a 4-way stop.
