Metrolink improves commutes, expands weekend service
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – New Metrolink schedules have kicked in that it says reflect feedback from its customers.

The adjustments add train frequency, improve connections between lines, and allows riders to arrive at their destinations at more convenient times.

One major change is on the fledgling Perris Valley Line.
Because of low ridership, late morning and midday trains 732, 733, 734, 735, and 736, which now travel only between the Perris Valley and the Riverside-Downtown Station, will be eliminated. But, a new afternoon train will run from Los Angeles to the Perris Valley. Train 708 will leave L.A. Union Station at 5 p.m. and arrive at the Perris-South Station at 7:15 p.m. This fifth afternoon train will offer another option for this peak travel time and relieve overcrowding on the 4:20 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. trains.

Weekend service has started on the Perris Valley Line.

The new schedule also includes minor adjustments on the Riverside, San Bernardino and Inland Empire-Orange County lines to improve connections and reduce delays.

On the Orange County Line, the new schedule includes more trains connecting Orange County and Los Angeles, including new midday trains.
