Where do the ‘fattest’ people live?
Californians are among the nation’s leanest people, according to a new study.

The personal-finance website WalletHub ranked the nation’s ‘fattest’ states and found those in the South were at the top while California came in 47th with only Connecticut, Massachusetts, Colorado and Utah considered the least ‘fat’.

WalletHub took into consideration 29 key metrics ranging from share of overweight and obese population to sugary-beverage consumption among adolescents to obesity-related health care costs.

California also did quite well in the rankings of health consequences and food and fitness.

The study comes during National Diabetes Awareness Month.

Americans collectively spend nearly $200 billion per year on obesity-related health costs, WalletHub reported.
