Suspect in campus commotion arrested at LAX
SAN JACINTO – (INT) – A gunman who caused a major disruption at Mt. San Jacinto College and three nearby schools Wednesday is in custody after attempting to board a flight out of the country at LAX.

Gregory Abejon, 25, was identified as the individual who flashed a handgun and threatened to shoot students at a cafeteria table but then left the campus without firing a shot.

The campus was locked down and some students were forced to remain in place for as long as 4-hours. Authorities were unaware Abejon had left and continued a building-by-building search.

The incident prompted lockdowns at Clayton Record Jr. Elementary, SJ Leadership Academy and Betty Gibble Learning Center.

Sheriff’s investigators said Wednesday night that Abejon will face charges of terrorist threats and brandishing a firearm.
