Plane crashes into Upland home killing the pilot
UPLAND – (INT) – It will be up to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to determine what caused Thursday’s crash of a light plane into an Upland neighborhood.

The pilot was killed when the single-engine plane plummeted through the roof of a home on Overland Court setting both on fire. A neighboring home sustained minor damage.

A couple and their small child fled from their home unhurt.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the pilot was attempting to land or was taking off. The Cirrus SR22 was destroyed. It had left the Torrance airport earlier in the morning.

It may take a year or longer for the NTSB to reach a ‘finding of probable cause’.
