Million dollar embezzlement alleged in local school district
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – A former assistant superintendent of facilities for the Corona-Norco unified School District is facing arraignment on charges of embezzling more than $1 million of public funds from the school district.
Ted Eugene Rozzi, 60, and Edward Curtis Mierau, chief executive officer of Neff Construction, which specializes in school construction, are charged with theft of public funds, money laundering, conflict of interest, and aggravated white-collar crime.
For 25 years, Rozzi supervised all aspects of construction for upgrading and building of structures for the school district.
A statement from the Riverside County DA’s Office said Mierau is making arrangements to surrender. Rozzi is scheduled to be arraigned December 20th.
