Inland Empire pays tribute to nation’s veterans
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Veterans Day observances were held throughout the inland region Monday.

At the Riverside National Cemetery, the Department of Veterans Affairs paid tribute to the service and sacrifice of the Veterans it honors at an 11am ceremony.

Parades wound their way through San Bernardino, Redlands, Colton and Victorville.

In Fontana, Upland, Moreno Valley and Yucaipa, there were Veterans Day Celebrations Monday, at Miller Park Amphitheater, at Veterans Memorial at the Moreno Valley Civic Center, Veterans Monument Plaza adjacent to Upland City Hall and in the amphitheater at Yucaipa Community Park.

A Veterans Dinner was held at the Redlands Elks Lodge 583.

In Rancho Cucamonga, the Quilts of Valor organization awarded quilts to 23 veterans at the Valencia Commons Retirement Center.

Pechanga Resort Casino at Temecula hosted a Veterans Day Blood Drive with LifeStream Blood Bank.

In Menifee, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation presented USMC Corporal Timothy Jeffers with the keys to a mortgage-free home through its Smart Home program.

All city, county, state and federal government offices will will reopen Tuesday.
