MORENO VALLEY – (INT) – A 13-year-old boy is the latest to find himself in the criminal justice system for a schoolyard incident.

Sheriff’s investigators arrested the Vista Heights Middle School student on suspicion of assaulting a 12-year-old girl and briefly knocking her unconscious.

Other students helped the victim return to class before the incident was reported Thursday. The girl later sought hospital medical treatment.

Identities of those involved were not released because of their ages.
