Remote-controlled car stopped smuggling drugs
SAN DIEGO (INT) An unusual attempt at smuggling illegal drugs across the Mexican border has been foiled.

Border Patrol agents say a 16-year-old boy was hiding a thick brush along the secondary border wall at San Ysidro operating a remote-controlled miniature car.

Agents searched two large duffel bags with 50 packages of methamphetamine. The bundles weighed in at 56 pounds with an estimated street value of $106,096.

The youth was arrested and is facing drug smuggling charges.

Two years ago in the same area a remote-controlled drone smuggling narcotics across the border was seized.
