Gas prices ‘tumble’ for the holidays
SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Just in time for the holidays, the Auto Club says gasoline prices are ‘tumbling’.
Motorists are paying about 40 cents per gallon less than they did five weeks ago. The statewide average in California is $3.84 a gallon for 87 octane regular. That represents a 9-cent decline in a week.
In Riverside, the average per-gallon price is $3.78 and in San Bernardino, it’s $3.85. In both cities, pump prices are still about 25-cents-a-gallon higher than last Thanksgiving.
The Auto Club notes that so-called ‘big box’ stores are offering the lowest prices as they compete for customers.
