San Bernardino school superintendent resigns SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) - The Board of Education accepted the resignation of Superintendent Dr. Dale Marsden Tuesday.
An on-line statement declared the effective date is to be determined. A special Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 17th. Dr. Marsden is a 20-year veteran educator with a track record of transforming education systems by focusing on a broad-based community engagement approach that has resulted in increases of graduation rates and a 50% reduction of suspensions and citations. The San Bernardino City Unified School District is California’s 10th largest urban public school district serving a diverse student population comprised of 73% Latino and 14% African-American with a 91% poverty rate. The district serves over 50,000 students in 73 schools within a 98 square mile radius. Much of Dr. Marsden’s recent efforts involve working in tandem with Gallup, Inc. to evaluate community-wide measures of Hope, Engagement and Well-Being. Story Date: December 14, 2019
